When Airwolf was first rolled out at Jetcopters, Inc for the press conferance in 1983, Bellisario was impressed with the design but he thought the chainguns were to small. The yellow color was changed to olive green and the chainguns were made bigger and replaced with a pyro effect. After a while the guns caught fire, being a fire hazard, the pyroflames were removed. It was then replaced with a still frame of the chaingun prop with a muscle flare on top. The pyroflames are most noticeable in the episode 'Fallen Angel' from season 2.
